How you're scored

One score out of 100, across four parts. Problem solving carries the task, so solving all of it is never beaten by solving none. How you worked counts for the other half.

55Problem solving
Solving it: 45 for the task, 5 for the next steps, 5 for your approach.
15Coding
Its checklist: the quality of your code, and how well you control the code the AI writes, in proportion to how much of the task you solved.
15Verification
Its checklist.
15Communication
Explaining your work when asked. Asking before you build and saying your plan earn credit too, and working quietly never costs you.

Each part has a checklist of things you did, each with the moment you did it. You'll see every item and the evidence behind it.

Problem solving

Solving it: the task and any next steps, plus your approach - a cause before each change, edge cases, building on the design.

Coding

Readable, focused code with nothing duplicated, and control of the AI's code: exact instructions, looking at its edits, catching a wrong one.

Verification

Running tests after changes, a test of your own for each problem, not calling it done while something fails.

Communication

Asking about what is unclear, saying your plan, explaining your reasoning when asked, and a solution someone else can run.

Writing more in chat doesn't raise your communication score. What you say counts, not how much.

The rules

  • 60 minutes, starting when your workspace is ready.
  • The AI assistant can write structure and the code you describe. It won't design the fix for you.
  • You can take the challenge once, and that run is the one that's ranked.
  • Your full report and score are ready the moment you finish. Everyone's results open . Equal scores share a place.
  • The podium is the top three with 75 points or more. If fewer reach it, places stay open.

What gets shared

  • The results table shows every entrant as a number - never a name - with their language, score and checklists. Only you see your own name in it.
  • The podium's sessions - the top three with 75 points or more - are open to everyone, without names or quotes from their chat: their score, report and checklists.
  • Every other session stays private. You can share yours: the shared page shows your name and your score, your full report once the challenge closes, and once the results are out, your place if you choose.
  • By starting, you agree that we use your session - your chat, code and activity in it - to score it, rank it and improve the challenges.
